ELC Brighton, English in Chester and ELC Eastbourne offer a wide range of high quality English language courses in a warm, friendly and professional environment. Each school has its own unique character but all of the staff at each of the the 3 schools are passionate about providing high quality courses and very personal service. 

The group of 3 schools is the ranked the No 1 group of English language schools in the UK by EL Gazette in its review of language school groups and chains.

Our year round courses are aimed at students aged 16+ except for the Summer Course for Teenagers in Chester which is for students aged 13-16.

All 3 schools offer courses for closed groups of students aged 13+ outside summer.

General English

Our most popular course, with all levels from Beginner to Advanced. Designed to give you the confidence to communicate effectively in real-life situations. Effective training for English for work, study, travel or personal pleasure.

English Examinations

A wide range of courses and examinations to help you achieve the English language qualifications you need for your future - for business, for academic study and for travel/life.

Long-term study

Our Study Year Programme is our most flexible and economic option for studying 6 months or more. A comprehensive programme of General English and examinations designed to help you prepare for your future.

Successful ELC students

25+ (Chester)

Short, intensive English language training for students aged over 25, taught in a dedicated training centre. Ideal you want to study in small classes to develop your general English language skills or work-related language skills.

Teachers' courses

We offer a range of very practical refresher courses to meet your professional needs. Ideal for overseas teachers of English. All courses are eligible for EU funding under KA1 of Erasmus+. PIC Code 943968790. We also offer CELTA in Eastbourne.

Business and Professional English courses (Brighton)

Designed for experienced professionals who need to communicate effectively in English in their job, taught in a dedicated Business Centre. Courses are tailored to your specific needs and develop the skills you need for use in your business contexts.

Fifty Plus (Eastbourne and Chester)

Designed for mature people who wish to combine practising their English with an extensive programme of visits, activities and excursions in beautiful areas of England.

One-to-One

Intensive one-to-one studies focussed specifically on your personal needs. For example, prepare for an important presentation or English exam, develop your vocabulary in your specialist area like medical English.

Summer Vacation

Brighton & Eastbourne - For young adults typically aged 16 - 22 who want a language holiday. have structured English lessons then join the school's social programme to make friends and practise your English more.

Chester - For teenagers aged 13 - 16, a structured language programme with an inclusive social programme.
