Our TOEIC preparation afternoon classes are designed to provide complete and thorough preparation for the TOEIC listening and reading exam papers. Coupled with our General English course, it will improve your English fluency, build your vocabulary and confidence to communicate in English in everyday situations and in the workplace.
The TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) examination is a test for non-native English speakers that is recognised around the world and seen as the global standard for people in the workplace and everyday situations.
The TOEIC assessment is one of the world’s most widely used to check English language proficiency. More than 14,000 organisations in over 160 countries rely on TOEIC test scores to assess potential employees and develop the skills of their workforce.
The General English plus TOEIC course at our Brighton school gives you the opportunity to learn General English on our core course. During the afternoon you will also receive intensive lessons covering all aspects of the TOEIC listening and reading exam papers.
* Minimum age: please see more information regarding levels of care and supervision for 16 and 17 year olds in international classes. We occasionally accept 15 year olds in international classes provided they are part of a group with a group leader.
You’ll study in a General English class for 20 lessons per week each morning, Monday to Friday, and then the TOEIC preparation course element takes place in the afternoon.
You can choose between:
20 lessons of General English and 5 lessons of TOEIC lessons
20 lessons of General English and 10 lessons of TOEIC lessons
If you are just beginning your English language journey, please contact us to check if we will have a suitable class. If you are a complete beginner we recommend that you take One-to-One lessons.

The minimum number required for the afternoon TOEIC classes is two participants. In the event that we receive fewer than two participants, please be assured that we will not cancel your booking.
Instead, we will give you the alternative course of General English plus One-to-One lessons. This consists of 20 General English lessons in a class of up to 12 students and 3 one-to-one lessons of specialised tuition for GET25 or 6 one-to-one lessons of specialised tuition for GET30.

Our General English courses start any Monday and finish any Friday. You can book a minimum of 2 weeks. Please note that the school is open year round except for 2 weeks around the Christmas period – usually the last 2 weeks for the calendar year.
You can stay up to 6 months and study without applying for a visa. You will need a valid passport and you can use e-gates on arrival at a UK airport. If you wish to study English with us for between 6 and 11 months, you should apply for a short-term study visa. You will also need to pay a health surcharge.

We offer an English level test which anyone can take. It involves 50 questions and, depending on your level, will probably take you from 10 to 20 minutes. At the end of it, we will tell you your probable level.
But when you book, we will ask you to take a more detailed and accurate test, to make sure that you start in the class which is best for you.
Our general English plus TOEIC course is perfect for international students who are over 16 years of age, and who have levels CEFR B1 to CEFR C1 English language ability. TOEIC is a relatively quick and easy exam to take, but just be sure it meets the requirements of your employer or educator before choosing this option.
