IELTS Exam Preparation Courses in Brighton, England

Exam Courses in Brighton

The IELTS exam preparation course at ELC Brighton is designed to give you complete and careful preparation for all aspects of the academic module of IELTS.

It is an intensive 4-week course - you study Monday - Friday, mornings and afternoons, with the academic IELTS exam on the Saturday after the course. Your teachers will be experienced in teaching IELTS preparation courses. Some of them are also IELTS examiners.

You can choose to study 25 or 30 lessons per week (18.75 or 22.5 hours). There is a core of 25 lessons per week of IELTS preparation. If you choose the 30 lesson option, for the extra 5 lessons you will study one of our General English electives. For example, if you wish to work more on speaking, you can choose our 'speaking, pronunciation and listening' elective. Alternatively, you may wish to focus on a new skill like 'English for Work'.

The course includes:

  • guidance and practice in all 4 papers of the IELTS exam (reading, writing, listening and speaking)
  • mock examinations under authentic exam conditions
  • regular tutorials with your teacher to give you individual help and study advice

If you are planning to study for 24 weeks or more, the IELTS Preparation Course can be taken as part of our Study Year Programme.

Our minimum age for individuals is 16, but we occasionally accept 15 year olds on the General English course in international classes provided they are part of a group with a group leader.

IELTS Preparation Course at ELC Brighton

The exam is usually held on the Saturday after the course. Please contact us for exact exam dates. The test centre for 'standard' academic IELTS is usually in Brighton (subject to availability) but may be Eastbourne or London. The nearest test centre for SELT IELTS is London or Portsmouth.
