English in the Primary Class room teacher training course class photo at ELC Brighton

More than 100 teachers at ELC Brighton

More than 100 English language teachers from all over the world are currently studying at ELC Brighton on one of our teacher development courses. The list of countries they come from include Argentina, Algeria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Slovakia and Spain. In addition to the brochure courses, we are running tailor-made courses for groups of teachers from Argentina and Germany.

In the photo we can see teachers on our English in the Primary Classroom course showing off the wonderful glove puppets they have made during the seminar on Arts & Crafts.

As English becomes ever more important globally, more and more governments around the world are changing their policy with regard to the teaching of English in schools. Many of them have introduced, or are introducing, bilingual education at primary and secondary level and in some cases are asking teachers who have never taught English before to do so. Our English in the Primary Classroom course, for example, is designed to help teachers face this new challenge by:

  • providing participants with very practical teaching ideas and new techniques
  • giving teachers confidence in their own use of English and their ability to teach it

The courses also provide opportunities to network and develop links with teachers and schools in other countries, as well as explore British life and culture.
