ELC Brighton has a very experienced team of teachers and administration staff overseen by the Principal, Phil Hopkins. Phil is also Chief Executive of the group and so has overall responsibility for ELC Eastbourne and English in Chester, the other schools in the group, and regularly visits them. Together with Nigel Paramor, Principal in Chester and John Veale, Centre Manager in Eastbourne the heads of the 3 schools form the Senior Managment Team.

Phil has overall responsibility for the charity and the 3 schools it operates - ELC Brighton, English in Chester and ELC Eastbourne. Day-to-day he is primarily responsible for strategic direction, administration and marketing. He is also the designated Child Protection Officer. Phil joined ELC in 2001. He has over 30 years' experience in ELT, as a Principal, director of studies, teacher trainer (CELTA and DELTA) and teacher in the UK, Greece, Spain and Kuwait. Phil speaks French, Spanish and some Greek.
