Our Social Programme in Brighton

ELC organises a full programme of weekend excursions and afternoon and evening social activities. There is something to do or see every day of the week. Activities are organised on a 'pay as you go' basis.

This week's social programme

Social Activities

We offer a wide range of afternoon and evening activities including sports, local visits, conversation club, film evenings and quizzes. A small charge of £3-10 is made for most activities but there are always some free activities like Conversation Club every week.

Local tours during your stay at ELC may include:

  • Lewes and Arundel, historic towns each with its own castle and ancient town buildings
  • the beautiful village of Rottingdean where you can enjoy a traditional cream tea
  • local beauty spots such as Devil's Dyke, with its breath-taking views of the Sussex countryside, or the dramatic cliff tops of Beachy Head

Local tours typically cost £6-15. Entry fees are normally extra.

Weekend Day Excursions

We organise a variety of full day excursions at weekends throughout the year. These excursions can be booked and paid for when you are at ELC. Typically they cost between £25 and £45. They include:

  • London
  • Canterbury & Leeds Castle
  • Stratford Upon Avon
  • Windsor & Hampton Court
  • Bath
  • Cambridge
  • Stonehenge
  • Oxford

In addition to organising excursions ourselves, to be able to offer you more choices, we also offer tours by 2 local companies - UK Study Tours and Discovery Tours - who specialise in tours for overseas students.
