Our Business English mini-group (4 max) plus one-to-one English for professionals in Brighton

This is the executive mini group programme which lets you luxuriate in your learning, with a proven combination of small group classes (just 4 of you in total) and individual lessons.

Business classes take place in our dedicated Business Centre, and our specialist trainers are highly experienced and well qualified with a proven track record of success working with business people of all types and at all levels.

The course lasts for 2 weeks and each week you’ll receive:

  • 30 lessons (22.5 hours) per week of group-based executive English in a mini-group of maximum four participants, and
  • 10 lessons (7.5 hours) of one-to-one lessons.

Each course is designed by the trainer to meet your needs and those of the others in the group, and is therefore a unique package, targeted to improve business performance in English. The focus is on using English in your daily work and on general business communication skills: e.g. high-level participation in meetings, presenting to groups and large audiences, communicating efficiently face-to-face, and over audio and video meeting platforms.

Business trainers use presentations, case studies, workshops and role-play simulations. Some sessions may be recorded for detailed analysis and feedback. Participants have free access to our self-study centre outside their lesson times.

Typical course content will include:

  • conducting and contributing to meetings and interviews
  • giving presentations
  • negotiating
  • developing specialised business vocabulary
  • discussing key business concepts
  • developing cross-cultural awareness
  • communicating effectively on the telephone
  • corresponding effectively in business (emails, reports, executive summaries)
  • writing reports.

For one-to-one lessons, subjects may include:

  • specific preparation for an important presentation, negotiation or meeting
  • focus on a particular area of vocabulary important for your job
  • preparation for an important exam
  • developing your confidence in communicating in English.

Your trainer will design the course according to your specific needs based on a detailed needs analysis.

Minimum class size

The minimum number required for this Business English Mini-Group plus One-to-One course is two participants. In the event that we receive fewer than two enrolments, please be assured that we will not cancel your booking. Instead, we will give you an upgraded course of 25 lessons per week of one-to-one tuition, so you will get a total of 35 one-to-one lessons. This will, of course, be at no additional cost.

Who is this English course for?

Our Business English mini-group plus one-to-one English for professionals course is geared towards helping highly-motivated business people develop effective communication skills in English. You need to be at least 21 to attend this course.

Course entry levels range from B1 to C1+ on the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) scale.

We offer an English level test which anyone can take. It involves 50 questions and, depending on your level, will probably take you from 10 to 20 minutes. At the end of it, we will tell you your probable level.

But when you book, we will ask you to take a more detailed and accurate test, to make sure that you start in the class which is best for you.
