Business English mini-group for professionals course in Brighton

Our Business English mini-group course consists of 30 lessons (22.5 hours) per week, spent together other like-minded executives, in a group of maximum 4 participants.

Each course is designed by the trainer to meet the needs of its participants and is therefore a unique package, targeted to improve business performance in English. The focus is on using English in your daily work and on general business communication skills, for example taking part in meetings, giving presentations, and communicating remotely.

  • Maximum students: 4
  • Minimum age: 21
  • Minimum duration: 1 week
  • CEFR entry level:
    1. B1
    2. B2
    3. C1
    4. C1+

Your trainer will use presentations, case studies, workshops and role-play simulations and some sessions may be recorded for detailed analysis and feedback. Participants have free access to our self-study centre outside their lesson times.

The benefit of being in such a small group is that you’ll have considerably more talking time, and for that reason, the course will feel more concentrated and intensive. Not only will you be fully immersed in the language, you’ll also be actively producing more language yourself.

Typical course content will include:

  • conducting and contributing to meetings and interviews
  • giving presentations
  • negotiating
  • developing specialised business vocabulary
  • discussing key business concepts
  • developing cross-cultural awareness
  • communicating effectively on the telephone
  • corresponding effectively in business (emails, letters and reporting)

The course is based on a detailed needs analysis that begins prior to arrival and is reviewed continuously throughout the two weeks. The content is therefore flexible, but a typical course will include:

  • discussion skills and participating in meetings
  • giving presentations
  • telephoning and emailing
  • intercultural awareness.
