Full details and exceptions

As with all insurance policies, there are some situations that will not be covered. Precisely what is and isn’t covered are detailed in the following documents:

For example:

  • The insurance will cover some COVID-19 related costs like medical expenses but not others. So you should arrange any additional specialist insurance you need before leaving your country.
  • There is no charge for NHS testing or treatment of COVID-19 while visiting the UK.

Make sure you are covered before departure

To be insured under the ELC Studentguard+ policy you must tell us and pay at the point of booking your trip:

  • You will then be insured if you have to cancel before departure.
  • If you do cancel your booking, the insurance paid is non-refundable.

Relying on your own insurance policy

At minimum, your own insurance policy must provide cover for:

  • Cancellation
  • Course fees
  • Medical expenses
  • Emergency medical assistance.

We strongly recommend that it also covers the other aspects listed above under our policy.
