ESOE celebrates 80 years!

Eastbourne School of English 80th birthday celebrations!

Students enjoying the cake at the ESOE 80th celebrationsOn Saturday 30 April 2016, Eastbourne School of English had a party to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the school. Staff and students from the school welcomed the Worshipful the Mayor of Eastbourne, Councillor Janet Coles, the Member of Parliament for Eastbourne, Caroline Ansell, host families, friends, local partners, members of the board and management of The English Language Centre and former staff.

The school was established in the summer of 1936 by Miss Frances Batchelor who had the dream of encouraging young people to learn the English language and to build friendships between nations of the world. We are proud to say that this continues to be the reality.

With gin punch, tea and delicious cakes provided by the Crumpet Caddy, over 100 people came together to mark the occasion.

A huge thank you to everyone for coming, and to the people of our organisation who work tirelessly and continuously to strive to be the best that we can be.

Here’s to another 80 years!
